Science, Engineering & Technology

SET program at HCC

Launch your career in the critical STEM fields.

Physics and Biotechnology. Electrical Engineering and Chemistry. Environmental Science and Computer Aided Design. These are just a sample of the Science, Engineering, and Technology (SET) courses in the high-demand STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) fields.

The SET Division's instructional areas include:

  • Science programs, with study in a variety of fields, from the keystone life and physical sciences to emerging disciplines in biotechnology and environmental sciences.
  • Engineering programs with exposure to the roles and interdependencies of electrical, mechanical, and computer engineering disciplines through hands-on student group projects.
  • Technology programs in a variety of high-demand professions within the architecture, engineering, general contracting, biomedical, and fire science fields.

The Division's emphasis on high-quality experiential learning comes to full fruition with the Science, Engineering, and Technology Building. The four-story 145,300 square foot building inspires the development of tomorrow's problem-solvers with innovative spaces such as an engineering build room for student project collaboration, dedicated science labs with research-grade instruments, a cybersecurity lab, a digital fabrication and 3D printing lab with professional grade manufacturing equipment, outdoor yard space for large student projects such as vehicles, robotic swarms, and solar-powered systems, and flexible study spaces featuring the latest audio/video technology.
