The Muse
The Muse literary and arts magazine is the touchstone of HCC’s liberal arts community. Each year, writers and artists contribute their collective genius, editors and designers fine tune the submissions, and the result is something truly special: what poet Marge Piercy calls, “a thing worth doing, well done” which has “a shape that satisfies.”* Submissions are welcomed each March for the annual publication, and the launch of each edition is punctuated by The Writers’ and Artists’ Celebration, an exultation of the creative spirit infusing our campus community. Every artist and writer needs that first opportunity to publish and share their work; for over 20 years, The Muse has been that opportunity for our students, faculty, staff, and wider community.
Please take time to browse our current and past issues and view our submission guidelines if you are interested in submitting work for the upcoming issue.
