Skilled Immigrant Program

The Cause

Howard Community College strives to fulfill the educational dreams of over 14,000 credit and 15,000 noncredit students every year while also contributing to the critical employment needs in Howard County and the surrounding region. The Skilled Immigrant program provides three courses; Introduction to the American Job Search, Advanced American Job Search, and Career Connections for International Professional course.

Each course focuses on workforce and career development for mid and advanced level English speaking, bilingual, and multilingual credit and noncredit students. Community business support is essential to deliver this program, which provides students free access to these courses and pronunciation tutoring.
