Anjole Williams, Culinary Student

“As a military wife and mother of three young boys, I know how challenging it is to complete an education and reach your goals. The Pathway Scholarship helped me to handle a full-time course load and cross the finish line.”

Anjole put her college education on hold to start a family and accommodate her husband’s military career. They moved from her home state of Hawaii to Columbia with her husband’s reassignment to D.C. When Anjole discovered HCC was within walking distance and offered a culinary management program, she knew it was time to reboot her education and convert her self-taught skills and passion for baking into a career.

“As a military wife and mother of three young boys, I know how challenging it is to complete an education and reach your goals. The Pathway Scholarship helped me to handle a full-time course load and cross the finish line.”

Anjole not only completed her associate degrees as a triple major in professional cooking, baking and pastries, and business administration, she continues to reach goals and then set the bar higher. Anjole adds, “Now I feel empowered to pursue my dreams, as well as be more of a financial asset to my family.”

Currently serving as an adjunct instructor in HCC’s Center for Hospitality and Culinary Studies, long-term goals include earning a bachelor’s degree, and opening a bakery with her sister.
