Snow/Inclement Procedures
HCC's performance venues do not always close when the college closes. HCC views its commitment to patrons seriously, often clearing parking lots and sidewalks of snow and sleet, making our performance venues accessible and safe, even when the college closes or cancels classes.
In an effort to avoid confusion between patrons and presentors, the following procedures are in place:
- If Horowitz Center must be closed due to severe inclement weather, the Horowitz Center Manager will contact the person in charge of all events affected by the closing. Contact will be made a minimum of three hours in advance.
- If a Facilities User wishes to cancel an event, the contact person for that organization must contact the Horowitz Center Manager at least three hours before the scheduled event so that all technicians and plant operations personnel may be informed.
In addition to these procedures, a Theatre Hotline has been developed for patrons:
- The Horowitz Center Manager will update this hotline in the event of inclement weather.
- When an event is cancelled, the message will be updated so the appropriate information is available to theatre patrons.
