Arts Collective's Virtual Events

ACs_Virtual_Event_Page

Rising to meet the plethora of unprecedented challenges during all of 2020-2021, Arts Collective’s 26th & 27 seasons celebrated its continued extraordinary trajectory. With the utmost agility, AC adjusted, navigated, embraced, and entirely immersed itself by offering fully realized seasons in a new era of virtual life.

Within 2020-2021, when the community (near and far), patrons/ viewers, designers, technicians, actors were hungry for the arts and artistic expression they could participate in and/or enjoy from home, AC offered over 30 virtual events, which included over 125 artistic participants, all of which drew much larger audiences (virtual viewers!) and strengthened deeper relationships with partnered organizations, etc.

Details: "Meeting the Moment: Conversations about the Arts in the Age of Black Lives Matter" - A 3-Part Virtual Series. HCC’s Arts Collective (AC) and Howard County Poetry and Literature Society (HCPLS) partnered to create a series of three free live virtual conversations on equity, diversity, and inclusiveness in the arts. Each event brought together various distinguished writers, actors, visual artists, artistic designers, and administrators connected by their present or past work with AC and HCPLS in our community. These powerful conversations, informed directly by current events, questioned, examined, and offered strategies for socially responsible work and anti-racist practices in the arts. "Meeting the Moment", moderated by author, essayist, and HoCoPoLitSo Board Member Faye McCray, included ample opportunities for audience questions and thoughtful responses from the participants.
