This weekend-must destination will celebrate three various inspiring takes on artistic storytelling in wonderful and extraordinary ways! Each event will include the fantastic talents of students, staff, faculty, and community guest artists performing acoustic music, song, improv, poetry, spoken word, and much, much more! -- all within a fabulous cabaret setting, including free snacks at every table and beer & wine for sale.   • Friday, March 29 at 8:00 p.m.: OPEN MIC
    Arts Collective 1st Open Mic in 10 years… and you’re invited to experience the talented array of folks [ages 16 and up] who will take the stage to perform original poetry, prose, acoustic music, songs... who knows? It's an Open Mic!
    Featuring AC’s special guest House Band, “The Shroom Pickers” - specializing in off-kilter country-folk and bluegrass music founded by guitarist/songwriter Miles Gannett of Baltimore's Fractal Cat, the quintet's material ranges from Gannett's original tunes to "shroomgrass" covers of the likes of Chuck Berry and Jefferson Airplane.

    Salute Broadway’s most wonder-full musicals… from the fabulously familiar to the uniquely unfamiliar! Song selections which span many eras performed by the area’s most outstanding vocalists (including HCC students, alumni, staff and guest artists)! There is absolutely something for everyone!

---AC encourages performers [ages 16 and up] to bring their creative voices to the stage! AC welcomes all performers with all levels of experience!
---Performance Time Limit: Up to 5 minutes.

---Original works encouraged - from poetry, spoken word… to acoustic music, songs, improv, and more!
---This Open Mic is "acoustic" only. 

---Planning Material: This Open Mic is about offering artists an opportunity to express wonderful, fresh, original view points. To clarify, AC encourages interested performers to take the “high road” regarding potentially emotionally, politically charged topics creatively, sensitively, intellectually... with integrity. Sure; challenge the audience - AC loves that... but, please do so respectfully.
---Note: Excessive profanity or aggressively charged messages/ physicality will immediately end your set per AC's discretion. 


Option #1 - Encouraged! Sign-Up In Advance [by March 15]

---Subject Line: Open Mic Sign-Up Request [Your Name]
Include the following info:
---Name and phone number.
---Genre: [Acts may include poetry, spoken word, acoustic music, etc.]
---Names of participants. 
---Items, if any, you're bringing (such as Instruments, props, etc.).
---AC will confirm Open Mic requests within 48 hours. 
---AC to confirm performer order/ line-up the night of the Open Mic and not before. 

Option #2: Sign-Up the Night Of
---Arrive between 6:30pm – 7:30pm to Sign-Up in the Studio Theatre Lobby.

---Performer Orientation - 7:45pm the Night Of: AC Management will conduct a mandatory orientation, which will also include Line-Up info per Act I & Act II. This orientation will take place backstage (AC's staff will instruct performers where to go when you sign-in). All artists who have signed-up for a performance slot must be present for this brief orientation. 
---All Open Mic Performance Spots: Per the discretion of Arts Collective's Management.  
---Support & Items Provided by Arts Collective:
a. 2 Sound Engineers and an excellent PA system. (Again, please remember, this is an acoustic-only event.)
b. 3 microphones
c. 1 electric piano on stage for performers to use gently (AC will not provide an a
ccompanist for this Open Mic)
d. 3 tall “bar” stools
e. 3 music stands
f. 3 tables in the Lobby for guest performer promo items and merchandise (details below)!
g. Need an amp, extension cords, etc.? Please bring your own as AC is not able to provide.  
h. All pre-recorded performance devises/ playback (such as "karaoke" anything, etc.) is not an option. 
i. Promo Materials: Feel free to bring your promo materials, merchandise, however, you must provide people to "man" such items.
j. Tickets: Folks interested in signing up to perform must purchase a ticket from the Box Office. Advance ticket reservation/s = highly encouraged!
