HCCEF Scholarships

2021-2022 HCC Educational Foundation Scholarships

The scholarship application for the 2021-2022 academic year is open! Applications will be accepted through January 30, 2022. The priority consideration date is May 1, 2021.

The Howard Community College Educational Foundation, Inc. (HCCEF) maintains endowments and scholarships established through generous contributions from businesses, foundations, civic organizations and individuals. Scholarship criteria differs and may or may not include financial need, academic merit, learning program, special skills or talent, and other.

Students must submit the 2021-2022 online HCCEF application to be considered for scholarships. Students will be required to set up a scholarship application account ("Sign Up" tab on website). Students who submitted an application last year will click "Sign In".

Other Financial Options

Some scholarships are considered need-based and requires students to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to determine their need. Students who are applying for financial aid, including scholarships, are encouraged to complete the Financial Aid  2021-2022 Application Process in order to maximize their financial aid resources. The March 1, 2021 priority filing date is for students to be considered for certain need-based Maryland state and institutional assistance.

  • Eligibility

    To be considered for HCCEF scholarship students are required to meet the follow:

    • Have at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA at HCC or be enrolled in their first semester of credit courses at HCC
    • Be enrolled in at least 6 credits for the Fall and/or Winter/Spring semester; at least 3 credits for the Summer semester.
    • Have a high school diploma or GED
    • Be in good Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) status
    • Declare an area of study
  • Priority Deadlines
    Priority is given to students enrolling for the Fall semester who complete the HCCEF application by the May 1 priority filing date. Students are encouraged to still submit an application after the priority deadline. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis after the priority filing date until all funds have been awarded for the academic year.
