Two students at HCCWe are excited you are applying to HCC! Whether you're a recent high school graduate, transferring to HCC, attending another college, or returning to college as an adult, HCC has what you need. And, online courses and programs make it easy to achieve your goals from anywhere and at any time.

Howard Community College (HCC) believes that learning is a lifelong process and knowledge is acquired in many ways. In addition to the traditional classroom setting, mastery of college-level knowledge, competencies, and skills may occur as a result of noncredit training and nontraditional learning experiences. • Class Formats Offered at HCC

HCC is offering a blended learning environment with four ways to learn:

    • Face-to-face: Classes will be 100% in person on campus. There may still be some online support for communication, assignments, and more.
    • Hybrid: Learn both in person and online or learn online in both flexible online and scheduled remote courses. These are courses that have been approved for learning in two different formats.
    • Scheduled remote: Meet at designated times in an online classroom. These courses will meet in real time, and at the times listed in the class schedule. Courses will be listed as Scheduled Zoom, Scheduled Blackboard, or Scheduled Canvas in the class schedule.
    • Flexible online: Study on your own time. These courses may or may not use Zoom, and recorded lectures are posted for students to watch on their own time. These courses still have due dates. Courses are listed in the schedule as Online.

Current HCC Students Applying to Nursing and Allied Health

Once you're a student at HCC, find out the distinct admissions requirements of your particular field of interest. Admission to the clinical component of allied health programs requires the successful completion of certain prerequisite courses. Always check first with an allied health advisor before taking a course elsewhere because it may not transfer to HCC.
