Howard Community College is committed to providing equal employment opportunity to its faculty, staff, and job applicants through non-discrimination in its employment practices including, but not necessarily limited to, recruitment, hiring, training, promotional opportunities, compensation, discipline, and termination. The college complies with all applicable equal opportunity requirements and county, state, and federal law regarding provision of equal employment opportunity.
The president of the college oversees this policy including procedures to investigate and process complaints regarding alleged violations of this policy.
In addition, the college goes beyond avoiding overt discrimination and will help faculty and staff to become aware of and to recognize more covert and subtle forms of discrimination through educational programs and removes institutional barriers to equality.
