Contributions Policy - 62.04
Howard Community College generally does not make monetary contributions to organizations. Exceptions, however, are made occasionally and these contributions are coordinated through the office of the president. The following are contributions that the college makes.
- The sunshine fund provides condolences or good wishes to friends of the college or college employees in the form of flowers, plants, fruit baskets, Howard Community College Educational Foundation gift bricks, or contributions to charities. The sunshine fund account is funded by auxiliary services.
- Advertisements on behalf of the college in publications with organizations with which the college has an educational or business relationship. The advertisements purchased must be prudent in cost.
- Reasonably priced event tickets the college purchases may include a contribution. The vice presidents or president must approve all tickets for their area that include a contribution.
- Sponsorships of community events may include a contribution.
Occasionally, the college is asked to contribute in-kind gifts for community events such as a ticket to Rep Stage productions and events sponsored by the Howard Community College Educational Foundation or a certificate for a continuing education class. Requests for contributions of in-kind gifts are to be directed to the president’s office for consideration and handling.
