College Procedure Number/Title:
Howard Community College (HCC) supports engaging students and the community through social media platforms, including, but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube. However, due to the unique open-forum nature of these communication channels, HCC recognizes the potential for undesirable or unlawful uses. Policies and procedures must be carefully followed by faculty and staff as they participate in social media. These same policies and procedures protect student privacy involving the use of any social media, while at the same time permitting the appropriate use of social media for college-related activities.
