Personal Communication Devices Procedure - 61.12.05
College Policy Number/Title:
Howard Community College (HCC) restricts employees from connecting personal communication devices (PCDs), such as laptops and tablets, or other hand-held devices to the wired local area network.
The president and vice presidents determine which employees are issued PCDs at the college’s expense. These devices are issued to employees with duties that require them to be accessible when away from their normal work locations or to faculty for instructional purposes.
Employees who purchase wireless devices for personal use and desire to retrieve college email or other college protected information, must ensure devices are compatible with college standards, protected by a password and/or other credentials and comply with all college policies.
