Common Course Outlines
Common course outlines will be maintained for courses currently offered or planned to be offered. The syllabus must correspond to the information included in the common course outline.
- The course description will be a one-paragraph description of the course in behavioral terms as it will appear in the catalog. Prerequisites or corequisites are to be stated in the course description.
- The overall course objectives will be written in behavioral terms describing what the student will be able to do when the student successfully finishes the course.
- It is the responsibility of the faculty to review and update course outlines and submit them to the dean or designee, as necessary.
- Substantive changes to course outlines must be submitted to the curriculum council by the dean or designee for review and approval.
The course syllabus should describe the course fully enough to allow a student to determine the general content, the instructional strategies used, the evaluation and grading procedures, texts and materials required, attendance policy, and any other requirements.

The up-to-date versions of all course outlines are available in the electronic college catalog.
