By the Numbers: Mathematics and Athletics Complex
The newly planned facility will bring exciting changes to campus when it opens in 2024. The mathematics division is currently housed in the Hickory Ridge Building, a former office building that has inflexible instructional spaces, and the athletic and fitness center was constructed in 1969 and is operating far beyond its structural life.
The new facility will fuse academics with athletics and in an innovative and creative approach to serving students and the community. Athletic facilities include a competition gym, multipurpose gym, locker rooms, an athletic classroom, fitness center, and a strength and conditioning area. Mathematics facilities include a Mathematics Learning Center, class labs, study lounge, maker space, and a research area. The LEED-certified building also includes a green roof, and an outdoor porch and patio seating.
