HCC has been the perfect choice...Now I feel empowered to pursue my dreams, as well as be more of a financial asset to my family.
Anjole’s success as a HCC student prepared her for her newfound career: teaching culinary classes at HCC and working for a catering company!

Anjole is teaching HCC culinary classes and cooking for Putting on the Ritz catering—and she got her start as a student at HCC!

Anjole had put her college education on hold to start a family and accommodate her husband’s military career. When the family moved from Hawaii to Columbia, Maryland, Anjole discovered HCC was within walking distance and offered a culinary management program. Anjole knew it was the right time to convert her self-taught skills and passion for baking into a career. She and her sister enrolled in HCC and strategically arranged their class schedules to rotate care of their children.

“As a military wife and mother of three young boys, I know how challenging it is to complete an education and reach your goals. HCC was the perfect choice, with a fantastic teacher-to-student ratio, financial advising and assistance, and express classes that allowed me to handle a full-time course load. Now I feel empowered to pursue my dreams, as well as be more of a financial asset to my family.”

Anjole earned associate degrees as a triple major in professional cooking, baking and pastries, and business administration. One day, she hopes to open a bakery with her sister, but loves her newfound career... teaching culinary students at her alma mater and cooking at a catering company.
