Vino Scholastico Wine Tasting Event Set to “Raise a Glass, Raise a Scholarship” for HCC Students on April 24
Vino Scholastico, a distinctive wine tasting event that raises funds for Howard Community College (HCC) student scholarships, returns Friday, April 24, 2015, to the college’s campus.
The 2015 Vino Scholastico features a pre-event presentation on wines from Oregon’s North Wilamette Valley by David Adelsheim, owner of Adelsheim Vineyard. Pre-event attendees will enjoy a tasting of various bottlings while exploring the traditional and innovative techniques that helped pioneer Oregon wine. The pre-event presentation runs from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the college’s Health Sciences Building (HSB).
The main event, held from 7 to 10 p.m. in the HSB, offers tastings of numerous distinctive wines and beers, live entertainment, gourmet hors d'oeuvres, desserts, raffle prizes, and discount prices for on-site wine orders. The event seeks to meet a growing need for financial aid for HCC students by “raising a glass, raising a scholarship.”
Tickets are $75 for the V.I.P. pre-event, $75 for the main tasting event, and $125 for both events. For tickets and additional information, call 443-518-1970. All proceeds benefit student scholarships through the HCC Educational Foundation, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and are tax deductible to the extent provided by law.
