STARTALK Program Featured on WBAL-TV 11 News
A recent news story with WBAL-TV’s Tim Tooten featured the STARTALK program at Howard Community College. STARTALK is an intensive five-week summer language program, where students can learn critical global languages such as Chinese and Arabic. Many students come to the program with a passion for learning new languages. And some have been able to turned what they learned in STARTALK into a career. Jason Rodriguez, a former STARTALK student, went on to study Arabic in college and has since landed a job with a cybersecurity company.
The STARTALK program is an initiative of the college’s World Languages instructional area, which offers diverse language offerings year-round. American Sign Language, Arabic, French, German, Mandarin Chinese, and Spanish are some of the choices available. Visit the world languages website for more information about courses and the STARTALK program.
