“Raise a Glass, Raise a Scholarship” for Howard Community College at Vino Scholastico on April 26
Columbia, MD – The Howard Community College Educational Foundation’s Vino Scholastico wine tasting fundraiser supports college programs and scholarships for Howard Community College (HCC) students. It is also a chance for culinary students at HCC to showcase cupcakes, mudslide cookies, chocolate cream puffs, and more of their delectable creations. The event will take place on Friday, April 26, 2019 in the Science, Engineering and Technology (SET) Building located on the Howard Community College campus at 10901 Little Patuxent Parkway in Columbia.
The evening will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a limited-seating feature wine presentation with wine enthusiast Julie Pedroncelli of Pedroncelli Winery, who will share her family’s passion behind their wines, lead tastings, and answer questions. The general tasting will follow at 7:30 p.m. with a chance to try additional fine wines, craft beers, and spirits from more than 20 wineries, breweries, and distilleries.
Culinary students in the college’s baking and pastry showpieces class will also design elaborate dessert displays for Vino Scholastico, which guests can enjoy along with gourmet food from local and regional restaurants. The evening also includes entertainment and a black bag drawing for a chance to win a collection of wines, craft beers, spirits, gift certificates to area restaurants, or a gift certificate to make your own ultra-premium red wine at Tin Lizzie Wineworks.
“Vino Scholastico offers an incredible time experiencing fine wines, delicious food, and good conversation, but it’s also so much more,” said Charlie Camp, Howard County business banking team leader at M&T Bank, presenting sponsor of Vino Scholastico. “Guests see firsthand the vital work Howard Community College does in our community, such as culinary arts education, and they get to support those crucial programs and scholarships.”
Tickets cost $125 and include the feature wine presentation and general tasting. Tickets for the general tasting cost $75. For tickets and more information, visit www.howardcc.edu/vino or call 443-518-1970.
