
Howard Community College’s Men’s and Women’s Lacrosse Teams Win NJCAA XX Regional Championships, Advance to Nationals

Update: Howard Community College (HCC) men’s and women’s lacrosse teams each placed second in the nation during the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region XX championships, which took place May 13-14.
Columbia, MD – Howard Community College’s (HCC) men’s and women’s lacrosse teams each clinched the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region XX championships, advancing to the nationals this month.
HCC Dragons men’s lacrosse took the opening game of the NJCAA Region XX Tournament, beating Harford Community College’s Fighting Owls 17-6, before securing the championship with a defeat of Anne Arundel Community College’s Riverhawks, 21-13.
The first round of the Men’s NJCAA National Tournament will take place Saturday, May 6, 2017, at HCC’s Dragon Athletic Complex in Columbia, where HCC will take on Ocean Community College’s Vikings.
HCC women’s lacrosse team defeated Frederick Community College’s Cougars 18-4 in the opening round, then beat Anne Arundel Community College 14-11 to win the program’s second Region XX Championship and earn an automatic bid to the NJCAA National Tournament.
The NJCAA Women’s Lacrosse National Tournament will take place at Anne Arundel Community College in Arnold, Maryland on Saturday, May 13.
