Howard Community College Seeks Full Accreditation through the Commission on Dental Accreditation
Howard Community College will host a site visit by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) April 14 –15, 2016. The college’s dental hygiene program received initial accreditation status in August 2014, and the program is now seeking full accreditation status.
As part of the process, the dental hygiene program must solicit third-party comments through notification of the general public and communities of interest such as faculty, students, program administrators, specialty and dental-related organizations, patients, and consumers. Comments are due to CODA no later than 60 days prior to the site visit. All comments must be signed when sent to the Commission for review. Signatures will be removed from comments that are made prior to forwarding them to the program.
Only signed comments that pertain to the standards relative to the particular program being reviewed or policies and procedures used in the Commission’s accreditation process will be considered. Comments will be screened by the Commission for relevancy. When comments are received that are not relevant, the individual will be notified that the comment is not related to the accreditation and, where appropriate, referred to the appropriate agency.
Comments may be submitted to the CODA office at 211 East Chicago Avenue, Chicago, IL 60611 or faxed to 312-587-5107. A copy of the appropriate accreditation standards may also be obtained from contacting CODA. More information is online at www.ada.org/coda.
