Howard Community College Hosts Maryland Student Film Festival June 20
Student filmmakers from Howard County and the surrounding area will screen their short films at the first annual Maryland Student Film Festival on June 20 from 3 to 7 p.m. in Howard Community College’s (HCC) Monteabaro Hall. Presented as part of the Columbia Festival of the Arts in partnership with HCC and the Howard County Public School System, the Maryland Student Film Festival will feature over 20 films produced by students attending area high schools and colleges. Admission to the event is free, and food and refreshments will be available.
Select films screened during the Maryland Student Film Festival will also air on HCC-TV, Howard County’s arts and educational access channel, during the 15th annual HCC-TV Film Festival from June 23 through July 7. HCC-TV airs in Howard and Anne Arundel counties on Verizon channel 41, and on Comcast channel 96 in Howard County.
