Howard Community College Hosts July 18 Panel Discussion with WWII Veterans for 70th Anniversary of D-Day
To commemorate the 70th anniversary of D-Day, Howard Community College (HCC) hosts a Friday, July 18 panel discussion and Q&A session with six veterans — three from Howard County — who served during World War II, fighting on the beaches of Normandy and across Europe and the Pacific. The event, which will be held from 5 to 6:30 pm in the college’s Smith Theatre, provides attendees with the opportunity to learn about the pivotal parts of D-Day and other WWII events through the intimate insights of veterans who either landed at Utah Beach, served on the USS Intrepid, or served in another capacity as the United States was immersed in war.
The event is free to attend and will be followed by an informal “meet a vet” gathering in the lobby. Refreshments will be served. For more information, call 443-518-1640.
