Discover Two New Pathways to a Nursing Degree: Military to RN and Paramedic to RN
Nursing and allied health are popular areas of study at HCC, with strong career opportunities upon graduation. In nursing alone, graduates who earn their registered nurse (RN) licensure can anticipate job growth of 12 percent over the next 10 years. With such demand, HCC recently started a two new pathways to a nursing degree—Military to RN and Paramedic to RN.
Through these programs, paramedics with current Maryland licensure and military corpsmen and medics bypass the initial semesters of the nursing program, complete a transition course, and enter with advanced standing. The programs started in the summer of 2016, after receiving approval by the Maryland Higher Educational Commission.
