Board of Trustees adds Open Meeting and Closed Session on May 13, 2020

Columbia, MD – The Board of Trustees of Howard Community College (HCC) has added a closed session meeting on May 13, 2020. Immediately following the audit and finance committee meeting, a brief open regular meeting will be held so that the presiding officer can hold the required public vote to close the meeting.

The board of trustees of Howard Community College is authorized to conduct certain portions of its meetings in closed session under the Maryland Open Meetings Act, Title 3 of the General Provisions Article § 3-305 (b). Therefore, the board will conduct a portion of its May 13, 2020, meeting in closed session at the conclusion of the audit and finance committee meeting via Zoom (13) “To comply with a specific constitutional, statutory, or judicially imposed requirement that prevents public disclosures about a particular proceeding or matter” and that such meeting shall continue in closed session until the completion of business.
