“A Chance in the World” Author Steve Pemberton to Visit Howard Community College for Book Signing and Q and A

Columbia, MD – Steve Pemberton, author of “A Chance in the World,” will visit Howard Community College (HCC) on Wednesday, November 7, 2018, from 12:30 to 2 p.m. for a book signing and Q&A. The event will take place in the Smith Theatre, located within the Horowitz Visual and Performing Arts Center (HVPA) on the college campus. The event is presented by the Dr. Joyce Moore Boyd Endowment at HCC.

“A Chance in the World” is a heartfelt story of an orphan boy who defies seemingly impossible odds, navigating the foster care system, all while trying to solve the mystery of his own identity and destiny. Learn how Pemberton overcame his circumstances, went on to become a Fortune 50 executive, and how his life experience impacts his views today on business and life.

Pemberton is Chief People Officer for Globoforce, a leading provider of social recognition and continuous performance development solutions, that brings humanity to the world through positive recognition in the workplace. Prior to that, Pemberton served as the first-ever Global Chief Diversity Officer for Walgreens Boots Alliance, the first global pharmacy-led, health and wellbeing enterprise in the world.

The program is brought to you by the Howard County Book Connection, which seeks to connect the community through shared learning experiences that promote productive dialogue, critical thinking, and intellectual enrichment. In partnership with Howard County Poetry and Literature Society, the entire college and county community is encouraged to read the Connection’s book selection and participate in a variety of activities during the academic year.

This event is free and open to the public. For more information, visit howardcc.edu/bookconnection.
