Howard Community College Board Chair Named to 2021 Top 100 Women

Felícita Solá-Carter Selected for Prestigious Leadership Award by The Daily Record

COLUMBIA, MD – The Daily Record has named Felícita Solá-Carter, chair of the Board of Trustees at Howard Community College, as one of its 2021 Maryland’s Top 100 Women. The winners are recognized as high-achieving Maryland women who are making an impact through their leadership, community service, and mentorship. The awards celebration will take place May 13 online.

“My sincerest congratulations to Board Chair Solá-Carter on her well-deserved recognition as one of The Daily Record’s 2021 Top 100 Women,” said Dr. Kate Hetherington, president of Howard Community College. “It is an honor to work alongside you to provide pathways to success for our students. This award is a testament to your dedication and service to the entire Howard Community College community.”

Ms. Solá-Carter joined the Howard Community College Board of Trustees in April 2016 and was reappointed in June 2020 to continue her service on the board through June 2026. In addition to serving as board chair, she leads the audit and finance committee of the board of trustees. A highly respected leader and executive in Maryland, Ms. Solá-Carter has been honored with several other recognitions, including the Leadership Howard County Unsung Hero Award and induction into the Howard County Women’s Hall of Fame.
