Sixth Annual HCC 5K Challenge Race Promotes Wellness, Raises Funds for Student Scholarships
Columbia, MD – Join the growing number of companies and organizations who will run, climb, and crawl their way to the finish line on Sunday, October 13, 2019, for the sixth annual Howard Community College (HCC) 5K Challenge Race, an event that provides opportunities to promote health, corporate wellness, and team building while raising funds for student scholarships.
The Howard Community College Educational Foundation (HCCEF), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports HCC and its students, has partnered with the Columbia Association (CA) and Feet First, who will provide on-site coaching during the eight-week training program for sponsoring companies and teams, leading up to race day. Additionally, participating organizations can take advantage of a 90-day complimentary membership to the CA sport and fitness facilities, plus weekly wellness newsletters as an extra benefit.
The HCC 5K Challenge Race training opportunities differentiate this race from other running events. The event specifically targets businesses and organizations with corporate team sponsorships starting at $750. All employees of sponsoring companies are invited to weekly trainings to receive tips to improve overall health and wellness. The HCCEF expects to net more than $100,000 for student scholarships through this year’s race.
Sponsorships are still available for businesses and corporations. Individuals wishing to form community groups should contact email@example.com. For more information on sponsorships or the HCC 5k Challenge Race, visit howardcc.edu/challenge or contact the HCCEF at 443-518-1970.
