7 Tips for Success this Semester

New to campus? Howard Community College has an array of student support services to keep you on the path to success!
Be wise – get advised!
One of the most important steps you can take as you begin your college journey is to get advised. By meeting with an advisor, you’ll learn what classes to take, and get answers to questions about majors, transfer requirements, policies and procedures, and the requirements that apply to you in your unique situation. Take advantage of the Library, study areas, and computer labs
In search of a quiet and comfortable place to get some work done? The HCC Library is much more than a collection of books. Open seven days a week in the fall and spring semesters, the library is outfitted with group study rooms, quiet zones, and seating areas for comfortable reading. The numerous computer labs around campus offer additional quiet space.
Find a support program for your unique situation
Students will tell you the support they receive from faculty and staff is one of the best things about attending HCC. You can find mentoring, counseling, group activities, and one-on-one attention with academic support programs designed to help students with the rigors of college and with career preparation and life skills development. Whether you’re a single parent, first generation college student, minority, or someone who needs additional support – we are here for you! Visit RCF-302.
Improve your study skills at the Learning Assistance Center
