Join HCC's Apprenticeship team in this virtual networking event to learn about the college's IT Apprenticeship program. This event will include a presentation that will give an overview of our program and how it can benefit your business. We will examine engagement of STEM students across several metrics (enrollment, honors, research, etc.) broken down by race and gender to assess how well STEM at HCC is serving each student population. We will also discuss ideas to further improve equity and inclusion in STEM based on our own experiences and research-based best practices.

INSPIRES is a year-long faculty and staff professional development program that gives small groups of colleagues the opportunity to undertake in-depth exploration of a global topic. Projects in recent years have focused on Cuban literature, Chinese politics and society, global food systems, and support for international students, to name just a few.
Members of INSPIRES project teams determine their own meeting schedule and learning outcomes, and projects are applied to MAPs or Annual Plans to meet diversity and professional growth requirements. -

The fifth annual Women+ in Theatre Conference Time: 9:00am - 4:00pm Locations: Horowitz Center Details:
The fifth annual Women+ in Theatre Conference will be held on August 22, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Horowitz Center at Howard Community College. Hosted by Rep Stage, the mission of the Women+ in Theatre Conference is to provide an opportunity for women+ theatre practitioners to network with one another and develop strategies that further the cause of gender equality within the industry and beyond. The 2020 conference will include a keynote address by Lady Dane Figueroa Edidi, a facilitated speed-networking session, a design panel, readings of winning plays from the 10-minute play contest, and a conference expo. The day will conclude with an excerpt from Lady Dane Figueroa Edidi's Ghost/Writer, a new play featured in Rep Stage's 2020-2021 season.
Registration Opens March 1, 2020
Registration Fee includes a light breakfast, lunch, and a reception, and display space on a shared table at the expo.
