      An interactive session for faculty/staff to discuss barriers to studying abroad for different student populations. Address strategies for removing the barriers to studying abroad for underrepresented groups at HCC.

    • Enriching Curriculum with an International Adventure (Diversity #TBD) Time: 11:00am - 12:00pm Locations: DH 100 Details:

      An HCC Sharon Schmickely International Travel Grant made a trip to Ecuador and collecting soil samples from different climate zones possible. Hear about the interactions with the local people and the regions of rural Ecuador including agricultural practices and economic struggles.

    • History Through the Murals of Belfast and Derry (Diversity #TBD) Time: 12:00pm - 1:00pm Locations: DH 100 Details:

      Learn more about the centuries old religious and political divide in Northern Ireland and the modern expressions of those divisions in the mural artwork of Belfast and Derry. An HCC Sharon Schmickley International Travel Grant allowed first-hand knowledge be brought back and shared through photos and descriptions of murals.

      Hear about the tri-corners of French art, culture, and history from a recently returned HCC instructor. Discuss global experiences, challenges of international travel, and how French culture and politics differ from the US.
