Clark DeCapite, “Accumulated”
This series of works discusses the nature by which experience and memory is accumulated throughout the fleeting moments that make up a lifetime. Moments punctuated by luminous beauty, or the shadows cast by painful traumas, all amassing to construct a segmented whole that comes to represent an individual’s concept of self. Acting as visual metaphors, the objects in this exhibition detail the processes by which defining elements are collected, lost, or augmented , lending themselves to the creation of the whole.
