HCC Bauder Lecture, Friday Black Writer’s Workshop

Thursday, March 4th, 2:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. - Howard Community College presents the Bauder Lecture Workshop featuring Nana Adjei-Brenyah, author of Friday Black. This workshop is a separate event following the keynote lecture. Adjei-Brenyah will guide students in a discussion of his writing process. Friday Black is a collection of twelve short stories in Adjei-Brenyah’s debut work. A bestseller, Friday Black received the 2019 PEN/Jean Stein Writing Award among many other prizes. Adjei-Brenyah, a professor at Syracuse University, uses fiction, humor, and shock to engage his readers in reflection on some of society’s most urgent and relevant issues, such as race relations and consumerism.
