Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
Diversity, equity, and inclusion are more than concepts or a philosophy; it is recognizing, appreciating, respecting, listening to, and learning from the unique talents and contributions of all people.
HCC is committed to valuing diversity, equity, and inclusion and recognizes the critical role of an educational institution in preparing its students, faculty, and staff to become contributing members of the global community. The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee (DEI) promotes conversation, exchange and an increased awareness of diversity issues affecting the college community.
HCC's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee
The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee reviews and plans annual college-wide DEI activities and events; participates in employment search committees; provides input on important college policies and procedures; develops, facilitates, and recommends appropriate management and staff training; performs diversity-related fact-finding activities as needed; periodically reviews and revises the HCC DEI plan and responds to current diversity issues affecting the college community.
We welcome your participation in DEI events around campus, and invite you to read our plan.
