SHERRIE BLACK

Sherrie Trede Black, RN, Mac, is a founding partner of East-West Healing Arts, located in Crownsville, MD, a holistic healing community, dedicated to providing a safe, respectful environment for patients to discover the tremendous power of the body's innate wisdom and healing potential. Sherrie is certified in the smoking cessation program, Tobacufree™, and by the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association (NADA) as an Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist to use of Auricular (ear) Acupuncture as an adjunct to treating addictive disorders. She is a Certified Zero Balancing Practitioner and a student of T’ai Chi Ch’uan.

Before obtaining her Masters in Acupuncture from Tai Sophia Institute for the Healing Arts in 2005, Sherrie worked in critical care and oncology nursing for seven years. She obtained her Juris Doctorate from the Washington College of Law and as a lawyer for 30 years, acted as mediator, litigator and counsel. Sherrie was President of the Board of Directors of the NLRB Federal Credit Union for two decades, and has recently been pivotal in the planning and opening of the Wellness Center at HCC.

GRETA MODI

Greta Modi, licensed acupuncturist in the state of Maryland, earned her Master's in Acupuncture at Tai Sophia Institute in Laurel, MD. Greta is also an Advanced Detoxification Specialist, offering a holistic approach to people recovering from addictions and maintaining wellness. Greta received her Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology from University of Maryland, College Park. Greta is enthusiastic about acupuncture and wellness! JEFF GORDON

Jeff Gordon received his Masters' Degree in Acupuncture from the Tai Sophia Institute in 2007. After he suffered debilitating injuries from a car accident in 1996, doctors were unable to improve his condition. His first experience of acupuncture had a remarkable healing effect on his body, mind, and spirit. It was so profound that he gave up his engineering studies to devote himself to helping others heal and love life again through acupuncture.  Along with his professional career, Jeff has been a daily practitioner of Tai Chi and meditation for ten years.  Jeff currently has a private practice in Maryland and the Howard Community College Wellness Center. KRISTEN LASOR

Kristen came to Massage Therapy to obtain a solid understanding of the human body.  She believes wholeheartedly in the healing power of massage.  Her goal as a massage therapist is to dedicate herself to the health and well being of her clients through professionalism, integrity, confidentiality, and respect.  She provides her clients with nurturing sessions to promote relaxation and self-healing.  She hopes through continued sessions, her clients will achieve a better body awareness and sense of peace in their lives.
