If an emergency disrupted your water supply, do you have enough water to sustain your family? Every household should store enough water to provide one-gallon per person for at least five days. This provides the minimum amount necessary for drinking, food preparation and hygiene. Water should be stored in unbreakable containers and replaced every six months. N2N is a grassroots initiative designed to prepare Howard County residents for an emergency before it strikes. For more information on what you can do, contact Joan Driessen at jrdriessen@n2nhc.org or Becky Maerten at bmaerten@n2nhc.org. |

Emergencies happen without warning. If you were asked to evacuate your home, do you have a go-kit assembled with the supplies that you would need to sustain your family? Most people have all of the necessary items in their home already. Take a few minutes to organize them in a bag that you could grab and go. For more information on the items that you should include, visit www.cern.us. N2N is a grassroots initiative designed to help busy families become prepared before an emergency occurs. Every family should carry a card with family phone numbers, an emergency meeting place, and an out-of-town contact. To download a Family Emergency Communications Card, go to www.cern.us.
