
Mission Overview No community can be completely risk-free in today's society. Safety and security are everyone's responsibility. Therefore, the collective efforts of students and staff in collaboration with Security and Safety Department are necessary. Students, staff, and visitors are partners in maintaining an environment that is safe and conducive to the learning process. Everyone is asked to be alert, security conscious, and involved. HCC's security officers respond to all types of public safety emergencies and provide safety escorts. Security officers are available 24 hours a day to respond to your call. The red phones and blue emergency poles located throughout the campus connect directly to the security office. Emergencies, call ext. 5555 from any campus phone or 443-518-5555. Our security department provides around-the-clock surveillance, on foot and in vehicles, to protect our community. Policies and emergency procedures are solidly in place, and our staff members are well trained to carry them out. Our security and safety teams also collaborate with local law enforcement agencies to effectively respond to emergency situations that impact our students' safety.
