Counseling and Career Services offers a variety of growth-oriented workshops or events designed to promote the awareness and psychological wellbeing of HCC students, faculty, and staff. National Suicide Prevention Day. Counseling and Career Services will join the global community in acknowledging the importance of suicide prevention. This is a program designed to raise awareness and combat the stigma that may prevent people from seeking help.
National Eating Disorder Awareness Week. Complete a free assessment and speak confidentially with a counselor about eating and body image issues. Get information about the statistics, causes, and treatment of eating disorders and body image concerns.
National Collegiate Alcohol Awareness Week: HCC will join colleges across the nation in recognizing Collegiate Alcohol Awareness Week. Participants will gain information about alcohol as it relates to health, decision making, academics, and even nutrition. Resources will be provided.
National Anxiety Disorders Screening Day. Anxiety is very common and comes in many forms. It can motivate you or get in your way. Learn about the different types of anxiety disorders and how they can have an impact on your life. Take a free assessment and speak privately with a counselor about your symptoms and concerns.
