FacultyIn the classroom, faculty share experiential opportunities with their students and make direct referrals to the Co-op & Internship Office. Additionally, each student is assigned a Co-op & Internship faculty advisor. This advisor’s responsibilities are:
To meet with the student at the beginning of the Co-op & Internship to finalize the learning objectives to insure relevancy, specificity, proper form and measurability (sample of Measurable Learning Objectives will be provided).
To establish a time and manner in which the student may maintain monthly contact during the work period to review progress, discuss the work environment, and troubleshoot problems. (could be electronic).
To conduct a worksite assessment, speak with supervisor, or review the supervisor’s evaluation form to ascertain the student’s work performance level.
To confer with the student regarding the worksite and discuss the achievement of the measurable learning objectives.
To read and evaluate the monthly and final reports (total of three reports).
To calculate, assign, and submit the appropriate percentages of the student’s grade to the Co-op Office for final processing.
