Many of our students wish to earn academic credit for their work experience and therefore choose to enroll in Co-Op. Many employers have supported our students with achieving their goals. Accounting students have worked for organizations such as Accountancy, a local accounting firm, and Price Water House Coopers. Business Management majors have worked with companies such as, Disney World, JHU Applied Physics Lab, and Calvert Group. Criminal Justice students have obtained opportunities with the Howard County Office of the State’s Attorney, Howard County Department of Corrections, and the Maryland State Police, among others. Our students have been fortunate to have participated in these rewarding, educational opportunities. In addition to learning valuable skills they have also earned academic credit toward their degree.
A successful Co-Op program requires motivated students, employers who are willing to partner with HCC in the education of our students, and qualified staff and faculty who are wiling to support students during their work experience.
