Many electronic resources use popup windows to display informational content. In order to be able to access that content, you may have to enable popups in your Internet browser.

Depending on your Internet browser, there may be several different ways to enable popups. Listed below are instructions for enabling popups in Internet Explorer and Firefox. If you are using a different browser, you will need to consult the help documentation for that browser for assistance with popups. After following the steps to enable popups, don't forget to reload of refresh your browser window.

Internet Explorer

Method 1 - To enable just a specific site to open popup windows:

• Click on the 'click here' or in the error message;
• Click on 'allow blocked content' or 'always allow pop-ups from this site' to enable the specific site to popup windows;
• Click the 'yes' button.

Method 2 - Another way to enable just a specific site to open popup windows:

• Click on Tools->Internet Options;
• Click on the 'privacy' tab;
• Leave the box next to 'block pop-ups' checked;
• Click on the 'settings...' button;
• Enter the website address in the 'address of web site to allow' field;
• Click on 'add' button;
• Click 'close' to save your changes;
• Click the 'ok' button.

Method 3 - To enable all popups in Internet Explorer:

• Click on Tools->Internet Options;
• Click on the 'security' tab;
• Click on the 'custom level...' button;
• Find the 'use popup blocker' option and click on 'disable';
• Click the 'ok' button;
• Click the 'ok' button;
• Click on Tools->Internet Options;
• Click on the 'privacy' tab;
• Uncheck the ‘turn on popup blocker' checkbox;
• Click the 'ok' button.

Firefox

Method 1 - To enable just a specific site to open popup windows:

• Click on the 'options' button in the error message;
• Click on 'allow popups for' to enable the specific site to popup windows.

Method 2 – Or to enable just a specific site to open popup windows:

• Click on the 'options' button in the error message;
• Click 'edit popup blocker options' to enable this site to popup windows;
• Enter the website address in the 'address of web site' field;
• Click the 'allow' button;
• Click 'ok' to save your changes.

Method 3 - Another way to enable just a specific site to open popup windows:

• Click on Tools->Options;
• Select 'content';
• Leave the box next to 'block popup windows' checked;
• Click on the 'exceptions' button next to the 'block popup windows' option;
• Enter the website address in the 'address of web site' field;
• Click the 'allow' button;
• Click the 'close' button;
• Click the 'ok' button to save your changes.

Method 4 - To enable all popups in Firefox:

• Click on Tools->Options;
• Select 'content';
• Uncheck the box next to 'block popup windows';
• Click the 'ok' button.
