The Children's Learning Center at Howard Community College serves as a laboratory setting for the HCC community. Individuals interested/involved in the study of young children may come and use the center in a variety of ways.  Enabling students and faculty members to observe, participate, interact, and complete practicum experiences are some of the ways the center participates actively in fulfilling the academic mission of the college.

Visiting individuals, college students, and faculty are always supervised by the classroom teacher.  The observation booths will be used as much as possible to minimize disruption in the classroom.

When leaving a voicemail or sending an email, please include the following information:

  • your name
  • your assignment (i.e., observation, volunteer hours, lesson plan implementation)
  • the age group you would like to work with
  • the due date for your assignment
  • the days and times you are available 

Laboratory School requests will be processed in the order they are received.
