Intramurals, Drop-Ins, and LeaguesIntramurals
Intramurals at Howard Community College operate under the leadership of director and co-head track coach Errick Henlon. Intramurals are offered as an alternate choice for students throughout the year. Activities are based upon students’ interests and commitment levels as well as facility availability, and may operate as a one-time or weekly event extending from one to several months. Past programs included 3 on 3 basketball, flag football, swim, and 5 on 5 basketball. If you wish to start an intramural program and would like more details,
contact ehenlon@howardcc.edu or call 410 772-4684.
Waivers need to be signed in order to participate.
Drop-Ins
Drop-ins are a fun alternative to clubs and intramurals. These once-a-week activities supervised by the head coach of a particular sport have in the past included indoor soccer, basketball, and volleyball. Waivers need to be signed. This activity is open to the general student population as well as to current and future athletes of Howard Community College. If the coach is unable to supervise the designated activity, the session is canceled and will resume the following week. For more information, please contact the individual coaches of the activities, or check out the campus TV monitors advertising the dates and times for the activities throughout the year.
Leagues
The upgraded facilities at the Athletic and Fitness Center allow the department to provide additional athletic opportunities for high school athletes. The department sponsors leagues for basketball (girls/boys) and soccer (girls).
