Follow the steps below to prepare to become a Dragon student-athlete.
| Step 1: | Complete the contact card or send an email to a coach indicating your interest in a particular sport. |
| Step 2: | Apply online to Howard Community College. |
| Step 3: | Contact Financial Aid if needed. |
| Step 4: | Contact the coach and report the above results. |
| Step 5: | Sign up and complete a placement test. |
| Step 6: | If you have a documented learning disability from high school, register with Academic Support Services by making an appointment, completing forms, and being advised as to number of classes to take. |
| Step 7: | Read the section especially for student-athletes before your meeting. Meet with an advisor at Advising. |
| Step 8: | Register for classes. Note: All athletes must register for 12 credits unless there is a documented learning disability. Part time students are eligible after having earned a minimum of 12 credits over the course of one academic year. |
| Step 9: | Contact the coach and report the completion of admission, financial aid and advising. |
| Step 10: | Obtain a current physical to participate in intercollegiate sports. |
| Step 11: | Transfer Students Transfer student-athletes must have official transcripts from previous institutions to send to the college. |
| Step 12: | Check back in with the coach to get further directions. |
