Health Information Technology (health IT) involves the exchange of health information in an electronic environment, the goal of which is to improve the quality of health care, prevent medical errors, reduce costs and decrease administrative burdens. HCC’s programs, in conjunction with Mid-Maryland Allied Healthcare Education Consortium through Carroll Community College, prepares students for various professional certifications and employment as health information technicians.
