Ages 11-14. Design and build a NASA rover to explore new worlds. You, working as engineers, will outfit a small rover with simple machines to investigate a new world. As each machine is integrated onto the rover, you will discuss the purpose of the machine and how it is best suited for a particular job such as craft movement, sample collection, or data transmission. Editing With Photoshop and GIMP

Ages 11-14. Two of the most commonly used photo-editing programs are Adobe’s Photoshop Elements and the open-source program known as GIMP. This class will expose students to both programs. You will learn how to use all of the tools in each program. You will be given over 200 images on a flash drive as well as specific instruction on how to modify each image. At the end of the week, you will be shown how to download GIMP, so that you can continue to perfect the skills that you learned during the course. Parental permission for you to access the internet is required. Attendance is mandatory on the first day of class.

Fun With Fondant

Ages 11-14. Would you like to take your cake decorating skills to the next level? Learn how to make multiple flowers, leaves, bows, and more out of fondant and gum paste. Paint and accent flowers, cover a cake with buttercream icing and fondant, assemble dried flowers onto your cake and finish your cake with buttercream skills learned in the Fun With Frosting class.
