Home Inspection

Earn Your Home Inspection License or Continue Your Education Here

Learn the techniques and requirements needed for Maryland Minimum Standards of Practice and Maryland Code of Ethics along with how to inspect and report. Levels vary from pre-license courses to continuing professional.

  • Home Inspection Pre-License Course

    Prepare for the Maryland State Home Inspection License.

    Topics include:

    • Structural systems
    • Exterior and interior systems
    • Roofing
    • Plumbing
    • Electrical systems
    • Air conditioning, insulation and ventilation systems
    • Fireplace heating and solid-burning systems
    • Professional standards for home inspectors
    • Maryland Minimum Standards of Practice and Maryland Code of Ethics
    • Inspection report writing

    One hundred percent attendance is required to pass the class.

    Standard refund policy does not apply. No refunds on or after the class start date.

  • Continuing Professional Education for Home Inspection
    This course is designed to enable the home inspector to maintain licensing by the State of Maryland by completing half of the mandatory continuing education requirements.

    Topics includehow to inspect and report on the soundness of a housing structure, roofing, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and insulation. 

    This course is offered in partnership with CCBC and will be held at its Catonsville campus. Maps and directions can be found here

    One hundred percent attendance is required to pass the class.

    Standard refund policy does not apply. Refunds issued only until the day before the class starts. No refunds on or after the class start date.
