Get involved in HCC’s language and literature events and publications! The college offers multiple creative avenues for students to explore and participate.
Blackbird Poetry Festival: This all-day event features poetry readings and workshops on campus. The festival includes readings by student poets from HCC and on-campus patrols by the Poetry Police, who will award individuals carrying a poem in recognition of national Poem in Your Pocket Day. The event is offered in partnership with HoCoPoLitSo.
The Muse: This is the Literary and Arts magazine of Howard Community College. Students may submit their own work (poetry, art, and photography) for consideration. Selected submissions may appear in future issues of the magazine.
STARTALK: This five-week intensive summer language program offers high school students the opportunity to learn communicative ability as well as cultural awareness in critical languages such as Arabic and Mandarin Chinese.
