The Cause: Students Need Help

Vino Scholastico 2012

Education can be the key to a better career, a brighter future and a fuller life.  And yet, financial obstacles prevent many people from pursuing their educational goals.  At Howard Community College, more than 7,700 students sought financial aid in fall 2011, a 53% increase from just two years ago.

Unfortunatley, funds are not available for many of these students.  Events like Vino Scholastico seek to close the gap and help more bright and talented individuals improve their lives through higher education.

Students tell their own stories the best, so click here to read how HCC affects the lives of many.

The HCC Educational Foundation (HCCEF) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation that provides funds for scholarships, grants, facilities and equipment, and programs that benefit the college.  Established in 1978, the foundation supports the college's mission to make learning accessible to all regardless of financial status.  The HCCEF is governed by a dedicated volunteer board of directors made up of community and business leaders.
