The President's Gala

the president's gala logoThe Event

The President’s Gala is a black-tie event celebrating the opening of Howard Community College’s new Science, Engineering and Technology Building, and Dr. Kate Hetherington’s 10th anniversary as president. Please join us on Saturday, December 2, 2017, from 7 to 11 p.m. The Gala will include dinner, dancing, and time to explore this incredible new building.

The Cause

HCC has always taken pride in offering its students the most cutting-edge education possible. However, not all students can afford to attend even an affordable community college such as HCC. While Howard County is considered a very affluent county, 49% of HCC students receive some form of financial aid. By sponsoring or purchasing tickets to attend the President’s Gala, your support will help ensure accessible and affordable education for HCC’s students in a technology driven world.

The Building

The SET Building will serve as a launch pad for student careers and entry into our critical STEM workforce. With state-of-the-art labs and an experienced group of faculty, the resources the SET Building will provide will help to develop today’s students into tomorrow’s problem solvers as scientists, engineers, architects, IT professionals, contractors, and cyber warriors.
