Named Giving Campaign

The Campaign for HCC gives donors many opportunities to honor a family name, pay tribute to a friend, or commemorate others who are deserving of this permanent symbol of recognition.  Your named gift will be displayed prominently and will be seen by tens of thousands of patrons.

A wide range of named gift opportunities are available on a variety of giving levels.

Studio Theatre

The Studio Theatre is designed as a flexible space with state-of-the-art lighting and sound systems, technical support space and green rooms for instruction and performances accommodating up to 150 participants.

Grand Hall Instructional Wing

The Grand Hall Instructional Wings connect directly to the Grand Hall, which is the heart of the Horowitz Center. Each of the two wings will house a variety of instructional space for faculty and students of the visual and performing arts, including classrooms, studios and practice facilities.

Lobby Space – Grand Hall

A true focal point of the building, the impressive lobby consists of a high ceiling with natural light and incandescent lighting to highlight art work and points of interest. The lobby is connected to the Smith Theatre and creates an ambiance that will set the tone for the entire complex.

Prominently located along the second floor Grand Hall Instructional Wing, these beautiful displays showcase the college's finest student artwork.

Student Services Hall

Atrium

A dramatic grand entrance to the Rouse Company Foundation Student Services Hall, the atrium offers a two-story open air foyer. Virtually every student and campus visitor who utilizes the amenities provided in the Rouse Company Foundation Student Services Hall passes through the atrium.

Café on the Quad

Café on the Quad provides students, faculty, staff, and campus visitors with a comfortable gathering space to socialize, study, conduct business meetings, and dine. Affordable, delicious food that pleases every palate is offered in the cafeteria. Full-service is the centerpiece of the café seating area. The Cyber Café by Verizon located in Café on the Quad makes state-of-the-art computers available for academic and recreational purposes.

4th Floor Multipurpose Room w/Balcony

Atop the Rouse Hall on the fourth floor is a state-of-the-art conferencing facility. The multipurpose room provides conference/event space that accommodates 140 to 200 guests. The room features computer access with a spectacular projection system. The multipurpose room is bordered by an open air balcony where conference and event attendees can relax and enjoy the beautiful Columbia skyline.

4th Floor Dining/Meeting Room B

Adjacent to the multipurpose room is a meeting and event space that comfortably fits 60 to 90 guests. This dining/meeting room also houses a state-of-the-art computer and projection system.

Disability Support Services Center

The Disability Support Services Center provides support services to credit students with disabilities. The focus of the Disability Support Services Center is to enhance student success, to increase return, and to facilitate successful transfer to a four-year college or university and/or completion of a program of study at HCC.

Learning Assistance Center (LAC) –
Tutoring Room

The Learning Assistance Center (LAC) provides academic support services to all credit students enrolled at Howard Community College who would like to become more successful and efficient learners.  The LAC provides free group tutoring in most courses offered for students not qualified for the Student Support Services Program.

Transfer Center Suite

Howard Community College's Transfer Center is located in the Office of Admissions and Advising.  The center provides a welcoming space where students come to receive assistance with the process of transferring to a four-year college or university.  Staff utilizes the Transfer Center to make a myriad of on-line college transfer information and services, transfer workshops and information sessions available to HCC students.

 4th Floor Lobby and Gathering Area

Entrance to the Rouse Hall fourth floor conferencing facility is through a spacious lobby and greeting area. This versatile space can be transformed into a gala venue one moment and a comfortable dining area the next. As the 7,000 guests who utilize the Rouse Hall conferencing facility annually, all are welcomed through the lobby and gathering area.

LAC Computer Classroom

Located within the Learning Assistance Center is a computer lab classroom.   This facility allows faculty and staff the specialized space needed to offer computer-aided tutorials that are open to all students. Tutoring software for all content areas, for remedial work and for skill building is available.  Writing and word processing software is also readily available. Every effort is made to insure that software programs being used in the English and mathematics areas, as well as other academic areas are available in the LAC Computer Classroom.

Career Center Suite

The Career Center Suite is home to a comprehensive career center where staff is dedicated to providing students, alumni and community members with a full range of career planning and job search tools.  Among the many services offered by the Career Center Suite are career planning/counseling; job search; co-op/internship information; job/career fairs and companies recruiting on campus.

Career Center Computer Classroom

The Career Center Computer Classroom provides computers and on-line tools that assist students in creating and printing resumes and conducting online job searches.

Admissions Reception Area

The mission of Howard Community College is to provide pathways to success for our diverse and talented student body.  While each individual student’s pathway to success is unique, most pathways start in the college’s Office of Admissions and Advising.  The Admissions Reception Area provides an open door and warm welcome for all students wanting to begin their paths to success at HCC.

Conference Rooms

The Rouse Company Foundation boasts a second floor and a third floor conference room.  Both state-of-the-art conferencing spaces can host a meeting of approximately 20 participants.  These meeting spaces are utilized by on-campus groups, as well as a variety of community groups and organizations.

Café Small Dining Room

Tucked in a quiet corner of the Café on the Quad is an intimate dining room. Appointed with a conference table and seating up to ten guests, it can comfortably hold a meeting away from the hustle of the busy café.
